Phil joined our firm in 1963, after earning a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois, and a Juris Doctorate from the University Of Akron School Of Law. Although he retired some years ago, Renner Kenner still proudly bears his name.
In a distinguished career that spanned over 40 years, Phil had extensive experience in all areas of domestic and international intellectual property law. His broad practice included both patents and trademarks with expertise in prosecution, licensing, client counseling, and litigation. As a consummate professional, Phil was widely admired for his integrity and ability.
Along the way, he mentored a good many of us in the honorable and skillful practice of law. His keen insight and dry wit will be greatly missed.
