Albert L. Ely obtained his law degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He came to Akron to join the legal staff of the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company. A few years later, he formed his own firm to practice patent and trademark law, and that was the beginning of the firm now known as Renner, Kenner, Greive, Bobak, Taylor & Weber. Albert was a founder and charter member of the Cleveland Patent Law Association.
