Professional Experience:
Prior to becoming a patent agent, Kathy worked as senior engineer in the research and development of advanced energy conversion materials at Westinghouse and is holder of a U.S. patent related to sintered electrodes for solid oxide fuel cells. In addition to fabrication of fuel cell components, she also led the microstructural characterization related to the development, production and testing of fuel cells. She has had extensive experience in electron microscopy and high temperature X-ray diffraction techniques working with a wide variety of ceramic materials, including studies of interfaces and intergranular phases. Kathy also worked as a visiting scientist at Risø National Laboratory in Denmark where she investigated platelet orientation in reinforced composite by neutron diffraction.
Kathy is a member of the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association. Outside of the office, Kathy enjoys spending time with her family. She is active in the Old Trail school Parents’ Association, organizes a neighborhood book club, and serves an the board of Kent Soccer Club.
